Yo, it's been a while.
I'll post art in a bit. I really like the direction my life has gone in, artistically and socially. I feel like I've improved alot in the last few months.

Hmmm so yes its been.....like a month and 2 weeks since i began this college thing. Its cool. The work load isnt to bad, and this is the only hard week so far....
Umm I went to b-more comic con, and met
Robert Kirkman (writer of marvel zombies and the walking dead)
Mike Mignola (Hellboy)
Brian Michael-Bendis (Ultimate Spiderman)
and I forgot to find Jou...RARRRRGGG....
and i went to spx, where i met Hope Larson (Chiggers, Grey Horses, and Salamanders Dream) and Bryan Lee Omalley (Scott Pilgrim)
So yea.....pretty much met everyone cool in comics short of Scott McCloud this last month...but i really should be doing my homework.......later

12:39 am - BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!
16 pages in and I've decided. Thanks to this Matt Wagner Podcast on sidebar I listened to, I really like what im doing now, but it seems like it has much more potential than a 50 page MIMC comic so Im going to finally tell the story of two of my first characters, Crey and Kat.
That is why I am announcing today..That Im not letting myself off easy...
I'm working on an action/romance/horror/comedy graphic novel....probabally around 250 pages or so...I'll check with some small press publishers when im near the end, but im willing to publish it myself if it doesnt work out. I really dont care about being published or manga competitions with these characters anymore. Its my brainchild and i want you guys to see what im capable of.
I'll try to be done by summer 2010 i guess.....haha ill be almost 20....
I know Im not the best, but I really have been dying to tell this story for years and the Wagner interview showed me that i dont want THAT story to be owned by a major coorporation....coughtokyopopcough......I think I'll check out ONI...
I'll keep you guys updated. I promise previews. Wish me luck...

Well I beat my block a while ago and I'm 15 pages of pencils into my 48 pg brain-child...
I cant decide whether to self publish it and send it to friends, or to enter it in MIMC...both maybe?....we'll figure that based on when i finish it....
I think this is the first piece I've done that I humbly feel is actually 'good'....well the story anyway...

Arrgg Im sorry. I know we all have these phases at some point...
Im trying to draw an entry for that kodansha E-Morning competition, but I have writers block...
All of the elements are there. The characters and the setting....but the plot and dialogue are'nt coming out. I have all the free time in the world, and i cant start...
I have'nt really drawn in a few weeks and i want to get past this so i can dive into a comic again...
How do you guys get past this?..

I'm auditioning for my school production of west side story. Tommorow is the dance half of the audition process. Tuesday is the singing portion. I've never officially taken ballet (none of the guys have), but I'm going to sing 'tonight' on tuesday. Wish me luck!
Rsom is gonna be tough to make with only a little over a month left, but I won't give up!

04:12 am - MICA portfolio review
Okay so I had a portolio at maryland intitute college of art (MICA) and.....
the lady who critiqued my work liked it. She said she liked observational work well but that that's not all I should put in, because to maximize scholorship oppurtunities I should show myself in what i do.......(so I think I'm in the opposite boat as Crispy was if I recall). She said I should always try not to leave white space like in this...

and add personal flare....she suggested mixing my comic work with my observational work somehow. It was at least comforting to know someone involved with an art college did'nt shun my comic art but praised it......Her favorite pieces of mine were these

She also said I should self-publish something I've done for my portfolio at least (wow Sarah was right......note to self Sarah's our personal advisor now). So I'll just get my rsom 8 entry (which is about 75% done now) self-published.
I guess the one discouraging thing is that I have to get quite a bit of scholorship to go to art school.......I mean if I can't go it's fine, but it's like I don't have any non-art schools I really am interesed in (cause I don't know any).....and I really want to take illustration and not some general fine arts thingy (maybe I'm stereotyping a bit). Moreover maryland does'nt really have the best state schools. I know I'm bitching.....i just need somewhere to vent and real lifes out of the question

Pen and ink.....and acrylic paint,and charoal...basically anything but water color...

Taekwondo....have'nt gone in a couple years, but it's the most dangerous thing i love to do.

So yes good old Brandon here. Due to some struggling with some creative blocks and social problems i decided to escape by buying pokemon diamond version and surprisingly.....i don't find the game a horrible copy of the past ones.....those guys at gamefreak are well...freaks. They managed to keep this series fresh over almost a decade.
I caught a shiny Shinx (a thinder lion-thing) as my third pokemon I'm so excited (the chance of catching a shiny pokemon is like .08/100)!!
So far I've got 3 badges and my I keep my main team even in strength...I've learned from letting one pokemon be the base of my team in previos versions, that's the way to go...
I can't wait till they get stronger so i can challenge other people online...
